Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs of the year. In the same year, she released her debut album Know It All, the song Scars to Your Beautiful ranked at the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also one of the original five songs. The song was unique because many people related to the interview she did with rapper Rap-Up on her journey to learn to love and embrace her. Cara includes messages of kindness and loving yourself into her music. The inspiration for her music is derived from her own struggle to overcome mental health problems as well as insomnia. She claims she has grown by therapy and is adamant about encouraging others to seek help when necessary. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian musician since 1996. Her parents have Italian origin. At the age of 10 old her parents gave her a guitar, which was the starting point of her musical passion. In 2013, she performed the songs she loved for YouTube the most popular platform for media. The goal was to prove that she had the ability and the confidence to be an artist.
